Town of Alma
Alma, CO
At an elevation of 10,578 feet, Alma is the highest town in North America. Encompassed by the mountains of the Mosquito Range, it is one of the most beautiful and unique towns in America. Visitors have the opportunity to climb three fourteeners in one day. Great area for camping, fishing, trails, and wildlife.

Town of Fairplay

Alma’s sister town, located six miles south-east of Alma. Also known as the South Park City. Additional options for camping, fishing, tails, and wildlife.

Dillion Amphitheatre

A spectacular lakeside venue over-looking the majestic Rocky Mountains, live music and entertainment. Weekly free concerts throughout the summer.

Parks & Nature

DeCaLiBron Loop: Mount Democrat, Mount Cameron, Mount Lincoln, & Mount Bross
Summit 4 fourteeners in one day! These fourteeners tower over the city of Alma and are part of the Mosquito Range. Trailhead for all of these mountains is about five miles away from the hostel at Kite Lake Trailhead. This is a 7-mile loop and is known as a rite of passage for all Colorado hikers. As of July 2023, this trail requires visitors to sign a waiver in order to access this area.

Quandary Peak
6.3 mile hike of moderate challenge. Explore this 6.3-mile out-and-back trail near Blue River, Colorado. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 20 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and snowshoeing, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Kite Lake Trailhead
County Road 8, Alma, CO
One of North America's highest campgrounds. To hike any of the Mosquito Range mountains, this is where you'll start.

Middle Fork South Platte River
This is the main river that runs through Alma and continues to Fairplay. Great fishing. In the summertime, there is a small beach to hangout at the river located next to the Alma's Town Hall.

Keystone Resort

One of the few mountains in Colorado that you can enjoy night skiing. Located 32-miles north-east of Alma.

Copper Mountain Ski Resorts

Nearest ski resort to Alma that is included in the Icon pass (as opposed to the Epic pass). Summit County local favorite ski resort. Located 34 miles north-west from Alma.

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area

What else is there to say? A-Basin is the legend. Nothing represents Colorado Mountain culture more than this place. Located 35 miles north-east of Alma (just passed Keystone).

DeCaLiBron Loop Trail (7 miles)
Complete the DeCaLiBron loop! Steep hiking trail up Mt. Democrat & Mt. Lincoln from Kite Lake trailhead, also access to Mt. Cameron and Mt. Bross.

Kite Lake (3 miles)
Access to Kite Lake trailhead & campground.

Loveland Mountain Road (3.5 miles)
Steep road with switchbacks up Loveland mountain.

Mosquito Pass (4.9 miles)
Rocky road beyond maintained gravel section.

Quartzville Road (2 miles)
Steep road climbs up to Cameron Amphitheater.

Wheeler Lake (4.5 miles)
Steep and very rocky trail with a four-wheel drive road to Wheeler Lake (4 WD & high clearance required).

Getting Around

Park County Commuter Route
Low-cost transit service between Fairplay, Alma, Blue River, and Breckenridge. You can connect to the Summit Stage and Breckenridge Free Ride transit systems at the Breckenridge Station. View the Park County Commuter Schedule here. Please note, the northbound bus stop in Alma is located at Main & 2nd Street. Purchase a 10-ride Park County Commuter Route pass or pay the low-cost one-way fare (exact fare required- drivers do not make change).

Check-out time is 11 AM MST. No in-person check-out required. If you wish to strip your bed, it would be greatly appreciated by our staff. If you require a later check-out, please let us know prior to the day of your departure and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Online Booking Policy:

All overnight guest must reserve a room through an online portal. We authorize your card on file for the first night's stay at the time of booking as a deposit. Rates are set for single occupancy (1 person) per private room. Additional $40 per added occupant will be charged to the total). Book directly through our website www.treelinehouse.com

Property and Cancelation Policies:

ALL BOOKINGS ARE SUBJECT TO OUR CANCELLATION POLICY - NO EXCEPTIONS

Please read and acknowledge the following cancellation policy before making a booking at The Bar at Treeline House. This policy is designed to ensure fairness and consistency for all our guests.

General Cancellation Policy: All bookings are subject to our cancellation policy. No exceptions will be made. Refunds or credits will not be issued for cancellations or changes, including flight cancellations, road closures, sickness, or any other factors preventing travel.

Cancellation and Amendment Requests: Send all requests to treelinehouse@gmail.com. To avoid penalties, cancel or amend reservations via email at least 72 hours before the scheduled check-in (4 PM).

Refunds: Full refunds for cancellations made more than 72 hours prior to check-in. Within 72 hours, one night's stay, plus fees and taxes, will be charged. Full Charge - Full Stay - If canceled within 1 days of arrival

Non-Refundable Promotions: Non-refundable promotions are charged in full upon confirmation. Review terms before booking.

Third-Party Bookings: Third-party sites may have their cancellation policy. Enforce the policy listed on the third-party site at booking.

Changes within 72-Hour Window: No changes without written approval inside the 72-hour window. Unauthorized changes may result in additional fees.

Terms and Conditions

Please read and acknowledge the following policies, terms and conditions of Treeline House. These policies are designed to ensure fairness and consistency for all our guests.

Accommodation Policies:

  • Private Rental Rates: Rates are set to accommodate 22 people for overnight use. Additional $50 per added occupant over 22 people. Maximum overnight guests is capped at 30 people. Flat rate - taxes and fees are included in rate.

  • Private Room Rates: Rates are set for single occupancy (1 person) per private room. Additional $40 per added occupant will be added at check-in. Taxes and fees not included in room rate.

  • Payment: No 3rd party or cash payments. The card used for booking must belong to a guest in the party.

Room Policy:

  • Single occupancy for dorm beds.

  • Private rooms for two or four persons.

  • Extra guests charged for shared rooms.

  • No <14 in shared dorms.

  • 15-18 with a guardian.

  • No pets in shared dorms.

  • Max length stay: 21 nights.

  • Housekeeping:10 AM-4 PM.

  • Dorm bed selection on arrival.

  • No outside visitors in dorms.

  • No cooking in rooms. Full kitchen provided.

Residency:

  • Guests must reside at least 30 miles outside Park and Summit County limits.

Minors and Children:

  • Under 18 must be with a parent or legal guardian.

Parking:

  • Free on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • One vehicle for private rooms, one per person for bunk room.

Pet Policies:

  • Dog-friendly rooms available $20/dog/stay.

  • Dogs left unattended or locked in room will receive a $300 fee.

  • Advance reservations required for dogs.

  • Cats not allowed.

  • Emotional Support Animals are not exempt from fee.

  • No fee for service animals but must show documentation if so.

Quiet Hours & Events:

  • 2 AM to 6 AM

  • 10 PM to 8 AM: in bunk room.

  • Some areas may be blocked for private events.

Locker Policy & Storage:

  • Lockers available for $5.

  • Treeline House is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

  • Any items lost or left at Treeline House will not be shipped in the mail and will become property of Treeline House if unclaimed for 10 days.

  • No storage of hazardous or prohibited items.

Smoking:

  • Smoking tobacco outside only.

  • No smoking or drug use in rooms.

  • $300 cleaning fee for smoking in non-designated areas.

  • Cannabis use is allowed for guests 21 and older.

Liquor Enforcement Policy:

  • Guests must be 21 or older to consume alcohol on property.

  • Compliance with all laws.

  • Excessive noise and disruptive behavior not tolerated.

  • Guests responsible for consequences of alcohol consumption.

  • No outside alcohol allowed.

  • Violations may result in fines of no less than $600 and expulsion.
